Muskogee man charged in fatal vehicle crash
By The Associated Press TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (AP) — Cherokee County prosecutors have charged a Muskogee man with negligent homicide for a fatal crash that happened in November. Seventy-eight-year-old William Nichols was charged Thursday afternoon with the misdemeanor offense. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Nichols failed to yield from a private drive, and his pickup truck struck Robert Catcher's motorcycle on Nov. 7. Troopers say the impact threw the 48-year-old Catcher nearly 150 feet away. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Nichols hasn't been formally arraigned, and court date hasn't been set. It wasn't known if Nichols had an attorney. An attempt to reach him Monday for comment wasn't immediately successful.
