Celebration planned to honor Cherokee youth choir’s 10th anniversary
By STAFF REPORTS TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – A celebration is planned Aug. 5 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the formation of the Cherokee National Youth Choir. The celebration will begin at 7 p.m. at Cornerstone Fellowship on 718 Pendleton St., across from the Tahlequah High School Performing Arts Center. Current choir members, parents, alumni and guests are invited. Two rehearsals are scheduled to prepare for the event. The first is at 6 p.m. on Aug. 3 and the second is at 3 p.m. on Aug. 5 at Cornerstone Fellowship. Child care will be available during the Aug. 5 rehearsal. A banquet is scheduled Aug. 6 at the Hard Rock Casino in Catoosa to honor the CNYC. Current choir members, parents, alumni and guests are also invited to the banquet. A meet-and-greet session will begin at 6 p.m. with dinner served at 7 p.m. Those interested in these events must RSVP by July 30 to youthchoir@cherokee.org or leave a message at (918) 207-3835.
