Tribal leaders gathering at Standing Rock

FORT YATES, N.D. (AP) — The leaders of American Indian tribes in the Great Plains are gathering at the tribal casino on the Standing Rock reservation that straddles North Dakota and South Dakota.
The Great Plains Tribal Chairman's Association event Monday and Tuesday is expected to draw representatives from more than 15 tribes.
Methamphetamine, suicide prevention, health care and energy are among the topics of discussion.
A representative of the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs also is expected to address the tribal leaders.
