Aaron Tippin to play Roland casino on June 21

ROLAND, Okla. – Country musician Aaron Tippin will play a free admission show at 8 p.m. on June 21 in the Lee Creek Tavern at the Cherokee Casino & Hotel Roland.

In 1991, Tippin broke into the country music scene with his single, “You’ve Got to Stand for Something,” peaking at No. 6 on the Billboard charts.

A year later, he released his second album, “Read Between the Lines,” which produced the No. 1 single “There Ain’t Nothin’ Wrong With the Radio.”

Since his debut, Tippin has released nine studio albums, five compilation albums, a Christmas album and a specialty album titled “He Believed,” an exclusive to Cracker Barrel restaurants.

From those albums, Tippin has released 35 singles, of which 33 charted on the Billboard Hot Country Songs.

Tippins’ collection of hit singles include “My Blue Angel,” “The Call of the Wild,” “People Like Us,” “I Wouldn’t Have It Any Other Way,” and the No. 1 hits “Kiss This” and “That’s as Close as I’ll Get to Loving You.”

CATOOSA – From March 15-26, the World Series of Poker is bringing its international tour back to the tables at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa. The tournament consists of 46 events during 12 days, including a first-ever $1 million guaranteed No Limit Hold’em Championship event beginning on March 22 and concludes March 26. WSOP is also holding a $250,000 No Limit Re-Entry event on the first weekend, which features four flights over two days. This year, the stop features 12 official WSOP Circuit Ring events, as well as Seniors’ No Limit Hold’em and a ladies’ event. Event buy-ins range from $135 to $2,200. Satellite qualifier buy-ins range from $65 to $275. The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa Circuit event is the 21st stop on the tour that began in August at Harrah’s Casino in North Carolina. It is the second WSOP Circuit series hosted by Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa and only one of three to be held in Oklahoma. Last year’s event brought more than 7,500 entries from 37 states and three foreign countries. More than $2.5 million was paid out in prize money. Players will be looking to follow the footsteps of last year’s circuit winner, William Berry. The Norman resident won $180,806 in the main event, which featured 574 entrants competing for $861,000. The top 63 competitors finished in the money. Players can qualify for the 2017-18 Global Casino Championship several ways: (a) win a Circuit Main Event at any domestic or international stop; (b) win a “Casino Championship,” which is defined as the player at each stop who accumulates the most points throughout the 12-event gold ring schedule at any domestic or international stop; or (c) be one of the top 50 cumulative point earners over the entire season who hasn’t otherwise qualified (domestic tour only). WSOP Circuit Events are a series of poker tournaments hosted throughout the United States and throughout the world, beginning in early August each year and culminating the following summer, with a $1 million Global Casino Championship where the victor earns a WSOP gold bracelet. CATOOSA – Internationally recognized four-time Grammy Award-winning singer, actress and philanthropist Olivia Newton-John is coming March 22 to the The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa. With a career spanning more than five decades with more than 100 million albums sold, her successes include four Grammys; numerous Country Music, American Music, Billboard and People’s Choice Awards; an Emmy Award; 10 No. 1 hits; and more than 15 top 10 singles. She recently scored another No. 1 hit, this time on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart with her daughter Chloe Lattanzi – becoming the first mother/daughter duo to top this chart. In 1978, her co-starring role with John Travolta in “Grease” catapulted Olivia into superstardom and to date remains the most successful movie musical of all time. Throughout her career, she has held humanitarian and environmental causes close to her heart. She served as Goodwill Ambassador to the United Nations Environment Programme, was the co-founder of Children’s Health Environmental Coalition (now Healthy Child, Healthy World) and, in 1992, she created National Tree Day in Australia, which is responsible for planting more than 10 million trees since its beginning.
