Cherokee Heritage Center offers cultural class promoting trade-era clothing

TAHLEQUAH – Registration is open for the Cherokee Heritage Center’s trade-era clothing class set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 14.

The Saturday workshop is part of a series that provides hands-on learning opportunities designed to preserve, promote and teach traditional Cherokee arts.

The class, which costs $40, will be led by Cherokee National Treasure and CHC Education Director Tonia Weavel. An expert in the field, Weavel will guide participants through making such as trade-era shirts, skirts and leggings.
