Cherokee Nation to accept public comments on LIHEAP plan

TAHLEQUAH – The Cherokee Nation is in the process of submitting an application to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for a Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program grant.

A draft of the fiscal year 2020 LIHEAP application is available for public review. During the review process, the public is encouraged to submit either written or verbal comments regarding the development of the final draft of the CN’s LIHEAP plan.

Copies of the draft plan will be available at the Family Assistance Department at the W.W. Keeler Tribal Complex in Tahlequah and all tribal field offices. A copy of the draft plan will be available to view on Aug. 13-28 and comments will be accepted at that time.

People unable to review the application at one of the tribal offices may request information about the plan by calling 918-453-5150 or 918-453-5327. Comments will be accepted over the phone.
