Tribal Councilor Dobbins assists community group with activities

WARNER – Cherokee Nation Dist. 4 Tribal Councilor Dr. Mike Dobbins recently visited with the Southern Cherokee Helpers (ᎠᎾᏍᏆᏝᏍᎩ) community group at the nonprofit’s monthly meeting in Warner.

He announced a $2,000 funding award to assist the Helpers in their effort to promote Cherokee culture through monthly community service activities and crafts in Dist. 4, which includes portions of Muskogee and McIntosh counties.

The next community activity is a Christmas dinner set for 6:30 p.m., Dec. 13 at the Warner Community Center. The event is free and open to the public. The Helpers will supply the meat and entertainment; families are encouraged to bring a side dish or dessert.
