Next Central Oklahoma Cherokee Alliance meeting is Jan. 21
OKLAHOMA CITY – The Central Oklahoma Cherokee Alliance will host its January meeting in the BancFirst Community Room at 1111 N. Lincoln Boulevard on Jan. 21.
Doors will open at 6 p.m., and visitors should use the community room entry on the west side of the building. On the agenda is a potluck dinner and announcements, recognitions and reports from attending tribal officials. People are encouraged to bring a food item of their choice.
Also on the agenda is a presentation from James Reynolds who will give a presentation on mascots, symbols, media history and the story of Julius Streicher, a member of the Nazi Party in Germany who founded and published an anti-Semitic newspaper.
Reynolds joined the Oklahoma Firefighters Pension and Retirement System as assistant executive director in 2011. He served as administrative programs officer for the Council On Firefighter Training from 2009 to 2010 and as the implementation coordinator for the Public Safety Capital Projects of Oklahoma City from 2003 to 2009. He retired from the Oklahoma City Fire Department in 2003 as the chief of training. Reynolds received his master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2005.
