SHS Drama Dept. to perform encore One Act Play for Charity

TAHLEQUAH – After placing second earlier this month at the OSSAA Regional competition with their one-act play, “When We Were Young and Unafraid,” the Sequoyah High School Drama Department is heading to the state competition in Mustang on Oct. 26.

Before they leave, Sequoyah High School Drama Department Director, Amanda Ray and her cast will hold an encore performance of the play at 7 p.m., Oct 24 at Sequoyah High School’s “The Place Where They Play gymnasium.

“The play delves into the issue of domestic violence,” said Ray. “So, it being Domestic Violence Awareness month, we’ve decided to perform one more show before we go to state.”

Ray said proceeds for the Wednesday performance will benefit the Sequoyah Drama Department and the Help In Crisis women’s shelter in Tahlequah. Admission is $5.
