TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – The Cherokee National Youth Choir will hold their annual Cherokee National Holiday concert at 7:30 p.m., Aug. 30 in the Chota Center at 3307 S. Seven Clans Ave. in Tahlequah. The center is on the north end of the new Cherokee Casino Tahlequah.

The concert will take place immediately following the Cherokee National Holiday Art Show awards ceremony.

The choir performs traditional Cherokee songs and contemporary songs in the Cherokee language. The goal of the Cherokee National Youth Choir is to increase awareness of Cherokee language and culture within the Cherokee Nation as well as outside the nation’s boundaries. Through the success of the choir, interest in the Cherokee language has been rekindled among young people throughout the CN.
