SAIGE calling for Native artwork
2020 SAIGE 15th Annual National Training Program
TULSA – The Society of American Indian Government Employees, a non-profit agency advocating for Natives in government, is hosting its 17th Annual National Training Program in Tulsa in June.
The theme for the conference is “Sovereignty is Sacred: Sharing Our Rights and Culture,” and SAIGE is seeking artwork for the conference program booklet cover and other marketing materials.
SAIGE officials are reaching out to area Native artists to submit images for consideration. Artists may submit completed artwork but are also welcome to create something new reflecting the conference’s theme. The deadline to submit images is March 9.
Artists may submit up to three images for review. The cover art is 8.5” X 11” vertical and will have the SAIGE logo and the theme placed on it for printing. The selected artist will receive a Native vendor’s booth at the SAIGE Training Program June 22-25 to sell their art, a value of $500. This is the only compensation. No reimbursement is available for travel related expenses.
The average attendance at our conferences is 300 participants. In previous years the cover art has been selected for the poster for the Department of Defense Native American Heritage Month, distributed worldwide at military bases and on the Internet. Additionally, several other federal agencies use the SAIGE Program theme and cover for their Native American Heritage Month posters, and the artist’s name is included for recognition on the posters.
Artists should submit high-resolution (300 dpi) images in jpg, png or psd files to Lori Windle, email@example.com
. For more information, call Windle at 303-293-5082. Artists may also view recent cover art at the SAIGE website, www.saige.org
, under the Past Training Programs tab at the top of the homepage.
