Oklahoma Historical Society events canceled, sites closed

OKLAHOMA CITY – Per executive orders from Governor Kevin Stitt in response to COVID-19, all Oklahoma Historical Society-sponsored events at all OHS sites and affiliate sites will be canceled or postponed through April 14.

The cancelations include the 2020 Oklahoma History Conference scheduled for April 22–24 at Sequoyah Lodge.

“The first priority of the Oklahoma Historical Society is the health and safety of our patrons, staff and volunteers. We will reassess future cancelations and closings as the situation develops. Thank you for your continued support and understanding,” reads an OHS statement.

In addition, all OHS museums, historic sites and affiliates will be closed to the public through Tuesday, March 31. This includes:

• Atoka Museum and Civil War Cemetery

• Cabin Creek Battlefield

• Cherokee Strip Museum and Rose Hill School

• Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center

• Chisholm Trail Museum and A. J. Seay Mansion

• Fort Gibson Historic Site

• Fort Supply Historic Site

• Fort Towson Historic Site

• Fred Drummond Home

• Henry Overholser Mansion

• Honey Springs Battlefield

• Hunter’s Home

• Museum of the Western Prairie

• Oklahoma History Center

• Oklahoma Route 66 Museum

• Oklahoma Territorial Museum

• Pawnee Bill Ranch and Museum

• Pioneer Woman Museum and Statue

• Sod House Museum

• Spiro Mounds Archaeological Center

• Tom Mix Museum

• White Hair Memorial

• Will Rogers Birthplace Ranch

• Will Rogers Memorial Museum
