Indian Women’s Pocahontas Club announces scholarship recipients

CLAREMORE – The Indian Women’s Pocahontas Club has released the names of its scholarship recipients for the 2020-21 academic year.

They are Kylea Anderson, Cloe Dennis, Madison Gray, Hannah Guthrie, Hannah Henson, Chas McClain, Rachel McKisick, Cheyanne Miller, Kacee Ramsey, Jasper Rader, Jesse Rader, Halle Tatham, Erica Taylor and Kylea Terrell.

The club sponsors 10 Cherokee students, male or female, entering college or vocational school, with a $600 per academic year scholarship, along with one recipient of the Oklahoma State University Foundation, Dawson-Nelson Akanadi Endowed Scholarship Fund and three recipients of the Rogers State University Foundation, Foreman Faulkner Scholarship Endowment.

The club will also host its annual “Hats off to Will Rogers” birthday celebration, and wreath-laying ceremony on Nov. 7 at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum. For information, call 918-402-3057.
