The Cherokee Phoenix Breakdown is back with its fifth episode of the Cherokee Phoenix’s new virtual roundtable discussion that highlights significant topics in the Cherokee Nation and Indian Country, and elaborates on their impact as it relates to Native people. In recognition of National Family History Month, the fifth episode includes Cherokee Heritage Center Lead Genealogist Gene Norris and Cherokee Nation Deputy Registrar Derrick Vann to discuss the process of researching Cherokee genealogy and if non-tribal citizens can use genealogy to attain Cherokee Nation citizenship.
