CN Hard Rock Casino Tulsa to host golf expo
TAHLEQUAH, Okla.— The Cherokee Nation Hard Rock Casino Tulsa will be hosting the 10th Tulsa Golf Expo on Feb. 11 and 12, which will be presented by the Broken Arrow and Owasso Golf & Athletic Clubs.
All ages are welcome at the expo and the adjoining shops and restaurants. There will be programs for junior golfers, including Janice Gibson and her First Tee students putting on a special demonstration early Saturday afternoon. Those wanting to spend time on the casino floor, must be 21 or older.
For those who attend the expo and spend time in the casino, there will be $10 free play coupons for the first 150 in the door on Saturday and Sunday. If you register electronically at the door you will be eligible for door prizes and a year’s subscription to Golf Digest.
Prizes will be given away at the contests. The Putting Contest sponsored by Alabama Tourism & Travel will offer a flat screen television to the winner. The long drive contest will be held in a Golf Simulator while the GameStop Hole-In-One Contest will be held on a Kinect Sports Season Two.
Pro Golf Association professionals will be offering free lessons and swing tips and will also help golfers test out the latest equipment.
On the Edwin Watts Instruction Stage, attendees will learn from Tracy Phillips of the Buddy Phillips Learning Center at Cedar Ridge; Pat McTigue, owner of GolfTec instructional centers in Tulsa and Oklahoma City; Michael Boyd, director of golf at Indian Springs Country Club and a former PGA Tour player; and David Edwards, long-time PGA Tour player and now Director of Instruction at Karsten Creek in Stillwater.
Expo hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and will be located in the hotel’s ballrooms. Tickets are $8 at the door, $6 for seniors 65 and over. Children 17 and under are free with a paid adult.
