Cherokee Nation Healthcare Services to support Military Health System

TULSA – According to a Cherokee Nation Communications release, Cherokee Nation Businesses’ Cherokee Nation Healthcare Services is helping fulfill a medical support contract with the Defense Health Agency.

CNHS will provide medical operations services and solutions to the Department of Defense and Veterans Affairs facilities located across the United States, Guam and Puerto Rico, the releases states.

It also states that CNHS is one of 27 companies selected to compete for task orders with a ceiling value of $969 million.

“We are pleased to be continuing and expanding our relationship with the DOD and their branches,” Steven Bilby, Cherokee Nation diversified businesses president, said. “Working to ensure our service men and women, as well as their families, receive quality health care is a true honor for our company.”

According to the release, through the five-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract, CNHS will compete for opportunities to manage or support patient appointing, medical records, medical coding/auditing, medical transcription and referral management operations within the DHA, Air Force, Army, Navy and VA treatment facilities.

“We take great pride in supporting the needs of our military health system,” Sy Simmons, CNHS operations general manager, said. “We appreciate DHA’s continued confidence in our capabilities and are looking forward to the opportunity to continue supporting them as they progress forward in their mission.”

The DHA is a joint, integrated combat support agency that enables the Army, Navy and Air Force to be medically ready in both peacetime and wartime. It provides integrated, affordable and high quality medical services to Military Health System beneficiaries and is responsible for driving the integration of health care and business processes across all branches, including care in military clinics, hospitals, medical centers, satellite locations and patient-centered medical homes.
