GROVE – The Cherokee Casino Grove will host a Fishing League Worldwide event on March 28-31 at Grand Lake.

The FLW, the world’s largest tournament-fishing organization, made the announcement in late November when it presented its 2019 FLW Tour season.

The 2019 tour features seven regular-season tournaments around the country with competition kicking off Jan. 10-13 at the Sam Rayburn Reservoir in Brookeland, Texas, and culminating Aug. 9-11 with the world championship of bass fishing – the FLW Cup at Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Among the 170 professional anglers competing will be local angler Jimmy Houston of Cookson, who will be competing in his 16th season on the tour. Houston has career earnings of more than $220,000 with FLW and will be looking to qualify for his second FLW Cup.

The complete FLW Tour roster for 2019 can be found at FLWFishing.com.
