TAHLEQUAH – Cherokee Nation candidate contest of eligibility hearings that were scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 18 at the Election Commission Office have been moved to Monday, Feb. 22.
EC officials said the hearings were postponed due to inclement weather.
The rescheduled hearings are to begin at 1 p.m. An hour will be set aside for each of the hearings, EC Administrator Marcus Fears said.
Candidates whose eligibility has been challenged are Dist. 11 incumbent Victoria Vazquez, two of her three challengers – Mason Hudson and Randy Junior White – and At-Large candidate Marilyn Vann.
The general election will take place June 5.
