TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (AP) - An investigation by Cherokee Nation marshals led to felony and misdemeanor charges against two area women in August.

Two women considering having their same-sex marriage validated by Cherokee Nation filed a motion to dismiss a third challenge on March 8 in tribal court.

A little more than a month after the Cherokee Nation Judicial Appeals Tribunal dismissed a second challenge to a gay couple's marriage, another lawsuit was filed seeking a declaratory judgment on the matter.
